For MyJLPT applications in Japan, use a JPEG that is at least 480 pixels wide and 640 pixels high, with a file size of up to 5 MB. Those are minimum width and height values, not a requirement to crop every image to exactly 480 × 640.
These limits are for MyJLPT applications in Japan. For an overseas test centre, open the host's current registration instructions first. You can enter the host's published photo dimensions and file-size limit in the custom requirement tool; check its other conditions before submitting.
